The Department has organized two International Seminars on
a) Urdu Ki Nai Bastian 1997.
b) Undertanding Ghalib-New Dimensions 1998.
in which Urdu Scholars from Japan and Kuwait also participated.
Besides, the Department has also organized :-
a) 15 National and State Level Literary meets and Mushiaras.
b) 35 extension lectures.
c) Good number of other literature activities.
The Department also organized Pearl Jubilee celebrations in 1995 on completing 30 years of its existence. Most of the nationally and internationally known Urdu scholars have visited the Department in connection with these academic activities from time to time.
In consonance with its rich tradition, the Department would like to organise some National & International seminars on the subjects given below :-
i) Urdu in the 21st century - challenges & directions.
ii) Urdu Literature of Protest.
iii) The impact of globalization on Urdu language & literature.
iv) Urdu & the world peace.
v) Commercialization & Urdu.
vi) Urdu & Electronic Media-Prospects & Challenges.
